The plot of The Swimmers is so well-crafted that you might think it was all made up to make a good film. Two Syrian sisters, Yusra and Sara Mardini, did, however, sail a boat full of refugees to Europe and eventually make it to the Olympic Games. It’s almost miraculous that the sisters, unlike so many other refugees, have been able to survive the ongoing humanitarian crisis.
