With a quality cast and the name of Lisa Joy behind the scenes it could seem that the film is a safe bet. Well no. This romantic sci-fi thriller is watery.
I started the movie confident. A good start, with the approach of an interesting world, in which the rise of the water of the seas and oceans has divided the cities into flooded and dry areas and has caused a war, made me think that I would enjoy the plot.
Obviously I was wrong. The characters are flat despite crude attempts to put personal trauma on them. The main plot is predictable, it does not contribute anything and the relationship between Nick Bannister and Mae becomes practically unbearable.
Nick Bannister, a private investigator who delves into the dark and seductive world of the past, helps his clients recover lost memories. It lives on the shores of the Miami coast, which is largely submerged under the sea. One day, his life changes when Mae, a new client, appears. Although Mae only comes to your office to find a lost object, it will turn into a dangerous obsession. As Bannister tries to find the reason for Mae’s disappearance, he discovers a violent conspiracy and, in the end, must answer the big question: How far would you go to cling to your loved ones?
