O’Neal uses a false FBI ID to enter a bar, harass a group of black people who play pool and steal the car of one of them under the pretext that he has a warrant for theft. When he is apprehended by the police he confesses his crime and explains, in the first strong statement of the film, that a false FBI badge is more frightening to a black man than any weapon, which is otherwise easily available. When they see her they are paralyzed, says O’Neal, who is offered to be a snitch or face a sentence of about ten years in prison.
