Carter depicts the story of a Korean guy who wakes up surrounded by CIA operatives and has no memory of who he is. Through an implanted device, a voice informs him that he must rescue a girl and return her to North Korea because she is the vaccination against a terrible virus that has spread around the world.
The narrative isn’t much more than saving this girl, and it’s a little sloppy for practically the whole first half of Carter. There are so many action sequences that it’s difficult to follow the storyline. However, they manage to hook you. From the beginning to the finish, all of the information that the guy gets is dubious for both him and the spectator. It’s difficult to believe the people, yet you’re intrigued to see what happens.
I’d say there’s a lot of exposition throughout the film, but with so much action, it’s difficult to discern from the video if you don’t receive an explanation of what’s going on. This decision by the film’s makers accentuates the sensation of being within a video game.
